If youâre grinding through MLB The Show 26 Mini Seasons, you might have run into some frustrating glitches. From roster errors to progress freezes, these bugs can stop your grind cold. Luckily, there are some workarounds that seasoned players have found to get things back on track.
1. Invalid Roster / âOpponent Has Invalid Rosterâ
The Glitch: Sometimes you canât start a game because the CPU opponentâs roster is invalid. Common culprits include quirky teams like the âLordsâ or âCats.â
Solution:
Go to View and Edit Roster â Squad Options â Generate Best Squad.
If that doesnât work mid-season, your safest bet is to restart the Mini Season.
2. Pitcher Stamina Bug
The Glitch: Your starting pitchers show depleted stamina at the start of a fresh season or a 9-inning game, even if they should be fully rested.
Solution:
Before the game, open Manage Squad and manually swap your starting rotation.
Some players use lower-rated pitchers to start the first game, then sub in their primary rotation afterward. This can help bypass the initial energy drain.
3. Awards Screen Soft-Lock
The Glitch: After playoffs, the game sometimes gets stuck on the awards or post-season summary screens with no way to exit.
Solution:
Navigate to your Profile Page to access inventory or packs.
If that fails, dashboard the console (close the app) or finish the playoff run to reset the screen.
On Xbox, resetting the console while keeping games and appsâwhich clears the cacheâhas also worked for some users.
4. Wins Not Counting / Infinite Regular Season
The Glitch: Wins donât appear in the standings, or you end up playing more games than scheduled without advancing to playoffs.
Solution:
Unfortunately, thereâs no mid-season fix for this tracking error.
The only reliable way is to restart the season, which refreshes the standings logic.
5. UI âPlay Nowâ Unresponsive
The Glitch: Pressing the button to start a game or edit a roster does nothing.
Solution:
Try tapping or double-tapping quickly (X on PS5, A on Xbox).
If that fails, back out to the main Diamond Dynasty menu and re-enter the Mini Seasons hub.
Pro Tip: Keep your console updated and monitor SDS patch notes, as many of these issues are gradually fixed in hotfixes and updates. Meanwhile, using these workarounds can save you hours of frustration during your grind.
