Oscar, divorziato, vive solo e disordinatamente in un grande appartamento e una volta alla settimana ospita degli amici per un poker. Una di quelle sere manca all'appuntamento Felix il quale giunge più tardi annunciando, tutto afflitto, che si è separato dalla moglie. Oscar gli offre ospitalità e lui accetta ma ben presto Felix si rivela per Oscar una vera piaga. Maniaco della pulizia e dell'ordine e ossessionato dall'amore per la cucina rende la giornata di Oscar, abituato ad una vita più disordinata ma più semplice, un vero inferno. I litigi, che ricordano all'ospite quelli sostenuti per tanti anni con la moglie, aumentano e raggiungono l'apice quando una sera Oscar invita a casa due donne che abitano al piano di sopra.
