A few years ago, proDAD introduced the professional version of its Mercalli image stabilization software, SAL. The authors promise particularly thorough image stabilization, with tools at your disposal to correct shaky, wobbly and distorted shots.

It is no secret that proDAD Mercalli is one of the best stabilization solutions on the market. The program simply imports your own video clips, analyzes them, the editor can trim and adjust them, and then export them to various formats such as ProRes 4444, 442 (all variants), AVC/H.264, VC/H.265 and other codecs.  

The software allows for splitting and rotating images, as well as batch analysis of several videos. There are various universal stabilization profiles (also for action cameras and drones), which can be applied after analysis, but can also always be reconfigured manually.

For better control, you can split the preview horizontally or vertically and thus enable a before/after view. Supported resolutions include SD, HD and UHD (2.7K and 4K). The app is designed for native 64-bit and claims to offer a "clean" user interface that was developed based on input from "over 30 video industry professionals."
