August 1959, București. Șase foști membri ai nomenclaturii comuniste și colaboratori ai securității fură o mașină a Băncii Naționale în care se aflau 1,6 milioane de lei. După arestarea lor, li se cere să reconstituie furtul și ancheta în fața aparatului de filmat. Apoi sunt condamnați la moarte și împușcați. La mai puțin de un an, pe ecrane este prezentat filmul "Reconstituirea", perceput ca o amenințare la adresa regimului. Filmul stârnește senzație și multe întrebări. După 40 de ani, Alexandru Solomon revine asupra acestui ciudat eveniment.
