Per un week-end gastronomico essi raggiungono la fatiscente villa di Philippe ove un tempo soggiornò Boileau. Mentre iniziano i lauti pasti, Marcello fa giungere tre  itute che, tuttavia, se ne vanno non appena s'avvedono dell'indifferenza ed estrema banalità degli ospiti. Solo Andrea, una maestra che ha condotto gli alunni ad ammirare il "tiglio di Boileau" accetta l'invito di tornare alla villa per tutta la durata della tragedia.
