Quattro personaggi: Susie ha scritto un libro sui ladri di piante di orchidea dalle quali si può ottenere una sostanza stupefacente. Johnny è il ladro. Charlie fa lo screen writer e deve adattare il romanzo di Susie per una sceneggiatura. E infine c'è Donald, fratello gemello di Charlie, anche lui sceneggiatore. Charlie è in crisi creativa e passa le giornate cercando di farsi venire un' idea, ma si perde guardando la fotografia di Susan stampata sul retro del libro. Le cose si complicano nel momento in cui i vari personaggi si adattano agli altri. Susie deve intervistare Jonnhy per proseguire con la pubblicazione dei suoi romanzi e finisce col rimanere coinvolta da lui e dalla sua attività e Charlie chiede aiuto al fratello per scrivere la sceneggiatura del film. I quattro si incontrano di nuovo tre anni dopo: Susie è sempre innamorata e legata al suo Jonnhy e i due fratelli si ritrovano coinvolti in un incidente e in una sparatoria che avrà esiti negativi.
