Italian vocalist Cristina Zavalloni, along with her jazz sextet, has developed a musical tribute program dedicated to the legendary French singer Édith Piaf. The project, conceived in 2023, holds a deeply personal significance for Zavalloni, rooted in childhood memories of road trips with her father. The album offers a contemporary and individualized reinterpretation of the classic French repertoire. The original arrangements were crafted by the singer herself in collaboration with saxophonist Cristiano Arcelli, tailored specifically to the performance style of the ensemble members, seamlessly blending the traditions of French chanson with elements of modern acoustic jazz.
