Kent, agente immobiliare, è un affettuoso marito e padre di famiglia che per il compleanno di suo figlio Jack organizza una festa invitando un clown per farlo divertire insieme ai suoi compagni. All'ultimo momento, però, il clown va a un'altra festa e quella di Jack sta per diventare un disastro. In quel momento, nella soffitta di una delle abitazioni di cui sta curando la vendita, Kent trova un vecchio costume da clown. Decide che sarà lui a far divertire suo figlio e i suoi amichetti.
